Paying homage to historical educational links

On this day of the Graduation of my students, I want to say thanks to Les Mills, who interviewed me for my place at Newport Uni  (now University of College Wales Newport) in 1993, and accepted me onto the Film & Photography degree.

Thanks for opening a gap in the fence and allowing me to squash through. There are few things in life as valuable as a good education. Leaving school, university was not a part of my plan, but through a series of fortunate opportunities along the way it became a part of my plan.

Gatekeepers at certain points help those plans come into fruition. Rejection can also be good and useful, but thanks for saying yes!

🙂 x
